From Solo Artist to Co-Creator – A New Report from the T.A.B. Project!
How can art, new technologies and citizen engagement come together to shape urban spaces and bring local heritage to life?
The report “From Solo Artist to Co-Creator. TAB Citizen Dialogue Report”, developed as part of the T.A.B. – Innovation Hubs for Tech, Art and Business project, co-funded by the Interreg South Baltic Programme, explores this question.

The publication summarises activities carried out between 2024 and 2026 in Szczecin and Wolin (Poland), Karlskrona (Sweden) and Wismar (Germany). It demonstrates how residents' stories, local cultural heritage and collaboration between artists, municipalities, researchers and businesses inspired innovative artistic projects using AR and XR technologies.
One of the report's key findings is the evolving role of the artist – from an independent creator to a partner and co-creator of projects developed through dialogue with local communities.
Beyond documenting the initiatives implemented throughout the project, the report also presents:
- A practical model for co-creating digital art with local communities.
- The benefits of combining culture, technology and business for urban development and the creative industries.
- Challenges related to meaningful citizen participation and the long-term sustainability of digital art projects.
- Recommendations for artists, municipalities and organisations, alongside future scenarios for digital art in public spaces through to 2035.
We invite you to explore the full report! More than a summary of the T.A.B. project's achievements, it offers practical insights, recommendations and inspiration for anyone interested in harnessing the potential of collaboration between art, technology and business to develop innovative solutions and strengthen local communities.
