Upskilling course and creative sprint - summary of Vilnius meeting

A Productive Visit to Lithuania: Preparing for the April Creative Sprint in Vilnius. We recently concluded a highly fruitful visit to Lithuania—an important step in preparing for the upcoming Creative Sprint in Vilnius, scheduled for April. During this visit, Kevin Sanikidze, Marie Björck, and Anna Enquist Müller participated in meetings, presentations, and discussions that brought us closer to the next phase of our project work.The events were organized by Laima Dockevičienė, Rasa Strumskytė, and the team at Rietavo turizmo ir verslo informacijos centras, the Lithuanian partner of the TAB - EU project.Rietavas: Discussing the Future of Innovation in the Region In Rietavas, we met with over 30 representatives from the municipalities of Telšiai, Rietavas, Mažeikiai, and Plungė to collectively explore the future of innovation in the region.Key topics included:<ul><li>Building local innovation hubs</li><li>Engaging communities from the earliest stages</li><li>Ensuring long-term financial sustainability</li><li>The importance of partnerships and proper infrastructure</li></ul>Kevin shared insights from Talent Garden’s experience in establishing innovation spaces across Europe, emphasizing that smaller regions should design their models based on local strengths and needs rather than replicating big-city solutions. We also had an inspiring meeting with the team at LinkMenų fabrikas&nbsp; - a makerspace that connects engineers and creators and home to Lithuania’s first virtual production studio. This unique space opens up exciting opportunities for future collaborations with our team.To end the day, we met with Vaidotas Valiukevičius, lead singer of The Roop. Čiurlionis. Open Call: Join the Creative Sprint in Vilnius!

CALL FOR DIGITAL ARTISTS: T.A.B. Project (Tech Art and Business)The T.A.B. Project is a European Union-funded initiative that fosters innovation by involving citizens in sustainability through art and technology. It invites digital artists to create "phygital" (physical and digital) artworks that combine augmented reality (AR) and community-driven narratives. The project includes workshops and residencies aimed at producing immersive experiences that highlight cultural heritage.The project will take place from March to August 2025, with artistic installations positioned in Karlskrona, Sweden, at locations such as Stumholmen and Fisktorget, as well as a third site to be decided in collaboration with the selected artists. These installations will be accessible via a mobile app that allows users to interact with digital artwork through AR technology.Program Details: Three digital artists will be selected to participate in an interdisciplinary residency, both remotely and in Karlskrona, Sweden. The residency will include city tours, museum visits, citizen interactions, and technical support. Artists will collaborate on the production of AR artworks for the exhibition.Exhibition Themes: The exhibition will focus on four themes:<ol><li>Karlskrona's maritime and cultural history</li><li>World Heritage (UNESCO recognition)</li><li>Sustainable Future</li><li>Environmental Challenges</li></ol>Each selected artist will create one animated 3D artwork for AR display. Experience with interactive and AR-based art is preferred. TAB CALL FOR ARTISTS: For the production of augmented reality installations in Karlskrona

The T.A.B Creative Sprint in Karlskrona was an intensive two-day event combining technology and art. &nbsp;This time, creatives, artists, and innovators came together in Blue Science Park to join forces and create projects at the intersection of art and technology. The meeting brought together a diverse group of creative industry professionals, such as filmmakers, musicians, designers, and technology experts. It aimed to develop innovative solutions through collaboration and using the latest technologies, including AI tools.During our stay in Karlskrona, we had the opportunity to participate in the 8th edition of Carl Film Forum and the inauguration of the Virtual Production Studio Lab (VPSL). This prestigious event brought together nearly 200 international film delegates from around 40 countries, including producers, researchers, local and national policymakers, and representatives of regional and national film and business institutes. This event showed that working in small, dynamic teams can be the key to breakthrough ideas. Working in four teams demonstrated how effective the integration of creativity and technology can be in addressing contemporary challenges.Each of the four groups focused on different aspects of storytelling, such as:<ul><li>Development of immersive visual technologies.</li><li>Integration of music and sound in modern narratives.</li><li>Application of artificial intelligence in film production.</li><li>Creation of tools supporting new forms of creativity.</li></ul>Every group has produced a tangible output (a pitch, a prototype, a storyboard, etc.). All project ideas have taken a meaningful step forward in product development or business idea development.
